Ringo Shiina is one of the most famous Japanese singer songwriters and is also a guitarist and pianist. She was born on November 25, 1978.

Musically, Shiina's songwriting style steadily has become more complex over the course of her solo career, incorporating more varied instruments and more elaborate production with each album. Although Shiina's influence in songwriting is still dominant in Tokyo Jihen, arrangements have been stripped down to a more standard rock and roll style, highlighting the roles of the individual players in the band.
